Differential Diagnosis
A Team Approach to Diagnosis & Treatment
The Neuropsychology & Memory Center takes a team approach to diagnosis and treatment.
Dr. Talbott routinely consults with physicians from a multitude of practice areas including Primary Care, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Geriatrics, Cardiology, etc. Differential diagnosis is important to determining the appropriate course of treatment.
Neuropsychological Evaluation can help to differentiate between cognitive changes associated with aging, as well as, those associated with developmental disorders (e.g., ADD/ADHD), potentially reversible conditions (e.g., a metabolic imbalance, depression, etc.) and those related to neurological conditions (e.g., stroke, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s and other dementias, Mild Cognitive Impairment, Multiple Sclerosis, etc.).
This team approach to care serves to ensure that patients receive the most optimal course of treatment. Our referring doctors know that, in referring their patients, they will get the quality of care they deserve.
